AT THE CAR WASH, WOAH

The door leading into the car wash is locked. You all know that, of course. You've likely tried it yourself, or watched someone make a fool out of themselves trying to break in. (Man, this is going to age poorly if you've all decided to surprise us and just leave the locked door alone.)

But today... well, call it a feeling. A gut instinct, maybe, that leads you to the doorway. This time, you put your hand on the doorknob - and it turns fully, the door swinging open so that you can enter. As you draw your hand back, you'll spot a bloody handprint on the knob - but then you blink, and it's gone.

The inside of the car wash is rather industrial looking, albeit mostly powered down. The lights are dim to begin with, and flicker ominously from time to time; occasionally, they even go out entirely, and it may be several minutes or several hours before they come back on. None of the machinery seems to be working, though there's a faint electronic hum coming from a shelf built into the wall, upon which a radio sits. Strangely, no matter how tall you are or how you conspire to stack things up and climb up to get it, it always seems to be just out of reach - there won't be any changing the channel for you.

It's hard to tell what you're meant to do here, now that you've gotten in. But since you couldn't get in until now, there must be some reason... right?

...only time will tell.

[hewwo sora, he'll go crouch nearby.] What is the current theory? Perhaps I can be of some assistance.

[he perks up when he does. fwend.]

Yeah. It's Nott, Jester, Riku, Owen, Shamspeare, you and me. Leo's there, too, but I guess he doesn't count.

We thought it was all people that killed a certain way, but some of the names on there don't work if it's people who murdered, like me and Shamspeare. So we thought maybe it's people who came back to life, but we don't know how that's happening either.

[he gently and thoughtfully knocks his knuckles against his chin once, twice, a third time.]

Ahh. This is rather frustrating when my memories are as fuzzy as they are. [squints.] ... I suppose we shall have to find a way to discuss this while our memories are not tampered with, perhaps? Has anything changed for you since you returned to life?

You mean besides coming back at all? [it's a light tease, but he gestures around the car wash.]

I tried to come in here before, but I wasn't allowed until today. I don't remember much before coming back though. [he would truly love to hold onto his memories for once.]

Nott said it was a place for people who killed other people, but that doesn't explain some of us.

[he's amused by that first part, patting sora's head.]

Hm. Something must have changed. You were with us, and now you are alive, and now you can find your way in here...

[thinking, thinking.] A thought has just occurred to me - what channel is your, ah... walkie talkie [he says this like it feels weird to say the words] set to?

[wah...he allows it. but also ah!]

Huh? Oh. [give him a moment to pat down his pockets and pull out his walkie talkie to check.]

It looks like it's set to thirteen. Why?

I believe I am set to the same. As are the rest of us, amongst the dead.

[...there might be a weird moment where sora pauses and looks a little disappointed and also a little unsurprised as he looks specifically at his right hand, flipping it back and forth.]

Then...am I still dead? [less important:] Maybe that means I can talk to everyone else who is, too.

Perhaps! Perhaps not. Death, I believe, is not important here.

[take this with a grain of salt the dude has a weird view on death to begin with]

I should think you try, when you are not here. It could help. How, I could not say, but many heads together - many heads that are not quite as fuzzy, to be correct - are better than simply one.

[hum.

okay. look. considering how many people have died and come back and died he is wondering if death truly means nothing here so it's okay. but hyth makes a good point.]

Okay. I'll see what I can do when I leave later today. Maybe there's something you know over there that can help us on the other side. [he looks kind of grateful for the assist, at least!] It'd be nice to figure everything out and actually get out of here.

[even if they have to maybe kill a rat. squirrel. thing. what.]

[a small smile - it's not as genuine as it could be, but it's there.]

So shall it be. [he hums.] Ah - I suppose you cannot tell Kairi hello for me, considering, but do try regardless. I appreciate her efforts to take care of my small winged friend where I cannot.

[his expression softens again.]

She's always like that. She takes care of things and people as best as she can. If I can, I'll definitely try. I know she liked you.
