[Of course she's reclaiming it! Now this is the sort of satisfactory result she likes to see when she's in combat! She retreats, returning to them.
......
Looking back at the Hogcrusher...it's not all that big, in comparison to this guardian. It exploding probably wouldn't bring it down, unless it hit a weak point or its explosion was so big it reached the head. Well, a explosion that big probably would kill them all, that's the problem.
At best, using that to force it down so its head is closer to the ground, and therefore it's more vulnerable to a killing blow, is a fine idea]
Watch out.
[A word of warning, mostly for Zer0.
Nuwa retreats to the vehicle. Not getting in it! And definitely not approaching too much, but as she sees it, just making it go forward may be enough for this to work! Taking debris, one she judged heavy enough to hold down the pedal, and throws it into the barely visible pedal. Takes three tries before one finally lands on it, Nuwa immediately retreating a safe distance from the Hogcrusher while it lurches forward, in direction of that contraption's other leg!
.........
You know, the result of this probably will be much accurate and cooler if the roll had been higher than [10], but that's how it is. She tried!]
[Owen has absolutely no desire to get close to something that's on fire and sparking. That reads as danger and without any magic here, he's simply not stupid enough to approach.
However, he does know that this Vault Guard or whatever seems to fair poorly against the gun he was handed.
So as the vehicle approaches the enemy, he fires at it, hoping for an explosion.
Hey wait a minute, this thing doesn't have blood?]
[ Honestly a creative take and I love it. Nuwa locates a pretty decent-sized chunk out of... well, several that surround them, given the debris and caving in ceilings and all this and that, and throws it into the vehicle. And hey, if it doesn't quite work the first time, what's stopping her from throwing in a second for good measure?
Either way, with the weight jostling the gas pedal, the Hogcrusher makes a sputtering, revving noise, its tires grinding against floor and against the weight of the fallen concrete upon it. Like a glorious countdown, you get to watch the pieces fall aside one by one, the death car making one lurch forward, and then another -- until it successfully breaks free and starts hurtling towards the Vault Guardian.
Zer0, fortunately, has the werewithal to see that thing incoming and backflip the hell outta dodge. The Guardian itself, on the other hand, attempts to make a grab -- only for its eye to whirr and glance backwards at the truck coming towards it. Then at the sound of Owen firing the gun. Then back at the truck again.
For an expressionless murderous alien robot, you can almost feel that 'oh, shit' in the air.
Boom goes the car right into the Guardian's body, still kneeled over from Nuwa's earlier attack. It lurches from the impact, and that would've been pretty effective enough as it is, but Owen's fire takes it to a new level as the shock travels over metal, over the truck (is it your imagination? Or do you swear everything started going unironically slow-motion for a moment?) -- and then BOOM.
A truly glorious explosion rings out as the car crashes with a mighty bang, and pieces of stone, metal, and an almost noxiously bright purple liquid rain down from the sky. It might not be the traditional kind of blood and viscera that Zer0 had implied, but for a maybe-robot, it's pretty close.
...
Yeah, you're looking at the totally mangled body of the former Guardian, its torso completely blown open. Its robotic blue eye twitches, whirrs, looks at the two of you as if in great offense... before it finally fades away. ]
Not that it stops Nuwa from sauntering towards them, sniper rifle in hand]
I suppose the deal has been fulfilled.
[Better cash out on this before the Guardian comes to life somehow, she supposes. She's not ruling it out, despite the very obvious damage this automaton suffered! You never know for sure!]
[Man... The sticky sweet red stuff in this thing is actually sticky purple stuff, and he's not really feeling grape jelly. What would he do? Describe a bruise? That's not nearly as unsettling as strawberry jam as blood and guts.]
Where's the Vault thingy?
[He doesn't want to be here anymore, the violence seems to be over.
He is going to go around the place the Guardian was like the door might be there.]
[ And then he turns towards the other two, and on his face flashes... a :D. And brings out one of his weapons, some kind of energy-based samurai blade. It looks like he'll be pointing it at them for a moment... ]
You stepped well to the challenge. If we meet as enemies, I will look forward to it.
[ So he comments and without the odd prose, before he proceeds to stick the end of the blade into the Guardian's body. Dismantle the pieces, sell them off -- easy trophies, or cash if he must. Or so you think, because he hunkers by the blade, grip solid on its hilt.
There is a moment of quiet now that there is no longer a giant monster rampaging around, only the quiet hum of the already-present technology littered about. As the quiet wanes, though, you hear the humming get, erm, louder. Does that arch seem somehow brighter to you? Anyone?
If you don't notice it yet, you will soon enough as with a powerful zap, the Vault seems to come to life as the plane below the arch bursts into bright purple light, seemingly a portal of some kind. And it starts sucking everything in, fast. Zer0 seems to be using the pre-emptively stabbed katana to not get himself sucked in, but you two? Might not be so lucky. ]
[That arch activate and starting to drawn them, with that purple light...seems like this is the end somehow. This was quite the day.
And since the day was over, there was one thing more to do. Nuwa turned to Owen]
You won't even get a moment to curse your fate.
[Having said that, Nuwa shoves forward her sniper rifle, right when her feet hovered, she being drawn towards the portal. It was a somewhat ethereal image, this demonic-looking woman, beautiful yet clearly inhuman, smiling while she got the end of the rifle right against Owen's head.
And, without even a moment of hesitation, she pulled the trigger]
[ And then you go off, being pulled into the sudden whirlwind typhoon created by the burst of energy from the portal, sucking everything in that's light enough into its arch. Really happy for Nuwa for getting in this one last kill before she goes, and maybe she can get in one last laugh at Owen's expense at watching him have to ragdoll physics into the portal while she gets to maybe retain some sense of grace and pride.
Zer0 waves you bye-bye. Maybe you'll meet again, maybe you won't.
The portal sends you hurtling and shaken up and around like going through a storm, but you'll (and by you'll I mean Nuwa will) end up in one piece, wherever you go.
